Yes, the same United Nations whose overseas “peacekeepers” are routinely involved in child rape scandals, may soon have a hand in rewriting our parental rights here in America, thanks to California Senator Barbara Boxer. President Obama, and Susan Rice, our UN ambassador.
Sen. Barbara Boxer is urging the U.S. to ratify a United Nations measure meant to expand the rights of children, a move critics are calling a gross assault on parental rights that could rob the U.S. of sovereignty.
The California Democrat is pushing the Obama administration to review the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child, a nearly 20-year-old international agreement that has been foundering on American shores since it was signed by the Clinton administration in 1995 but never ratified.
Critics say the treaty, which creates “the right of the child to freedom of thought, conscience and religion” and outlaws the “arbitrary or unlawful interference with his or her privacy,” intrudes on the family and strips parents of the power to raise their children without government interference.
At a time when the entertainment media usurps parental authority with portrayals of stupid adults, thus enabling them to question the very people who unconditionally feed, clothe, and house them, we now have clearly socialist liberals that will attempt to use the power of the law to tell us how, when, and IF we can discipline a child we are attempting to raise.
Great. Just what we need.

OMG, this is what my mother has been saying since before I was born. Back in the early 1960s none of the preschool or kindergarten or those types of programs were required or mandated, though they did exist. My mother said, and rightly so, “I’m not giving my children to the State a day sooner than I have to.”
She distrusted the UN from the get go (I still do); warned against giving money to UNICEF (Which I refuse to do), and so on. She and my father were very conservative. I grew up with their viewpoints and thank God, have kept to them. I have one brother who thinks like me and another (old hippie) who is the opposite. We don’t discuss politics or religion.
Just think about the old Charlie Brown tv shows, no adults, when you heard them it was just wah wah wah.. sounds. The beginning?
I going to go over it a bit later, but thought I should give my understanding of children’s rights out in the open now. A child has ever right an adult has as they are sentient. It is up to their parents to teach them how to practice said rights responsibly as this is one of the jobs a parent is supposed to do. Where the parents have no ownership rights on their children, the government has less than that as officially it can have no ownership at all.
it’s like Democrats speak backwards – “right of the child to freedom of thought, conscience and religion” must be code for government dependence. She wants to “expand” the rights of the child yet it STRIPS the power from the Parent to raise them as they would see fit
what the hell?…………
If anybody else is from California here, we need to VOTE THIS BITCH OUT!!
I vote against her every time, but so far it hasn’t worked out too well.
Henry, I think it will next election time!
