Media Bias Sample Of The Day

The Senate, for now, has just rejected the reintroduction of The Fairness Doctrine.

The Senate vote on the so-called Fairness Doctrine was in part a response to conservative radio talk show hosts who feared that Democrats would try to revive the policy to ensure liberal opinions got equal time.

What is wrong with this line from The Associated Press story?

“So-called” is code used to diminish the importance or insult the notion of what follows it.

And far be it from myself to question the wisdom of the AP, but conservative radio talk show hosts aren’t fearful of liberal opinions. But as liberal talk shows tank on their own, government forcing radio stations to run loser programming means they lose money. To avoid sanctions, they’d have to reduce the amount of conservative shows. It’s about business, not fear of superior liberal ideas that few choose to listen to.

Good thing The Associated Press doesn’t do radio. They’d tank as well.

NOTE: I now know The Associated Press DOES do radio. So good, many of us never heard of it.
