Conspiracy Theory Of The Day

At a time when the government is supposedly watching every penny being spent, a couple hundred million dollars wound up in the drink.

NASA and climate researchers are weighing their options after yesterday’s crash of a new satellite designed to monitor atmospheric carbon dioxide with unprecedented accuracy. A malfunction during the rocket ride toward space sent the Orbiting Carbon Observatory plummeting into the Indian Ocean near Antarctica.

What went wrong with the $278 million mission will be the subject of a lengthy investigation, but Weiler said it appeared that the protective nose cone, known as the fairing, failed to separate from the satellite. With the extra mass still clinging to the satellite, the rocket did not have enough thrust to boost it into orbit, and the rocket and conjoined spacecraft fell back to Earth and slammed into the ocean.

Okay, that’s one possible explanation….

We have Al Gore and his environmental lemmings going around raising awareness (and even issuing threats against skeptics) about climate change, formerly global warming.

This satellite was going to “monitor atmospheric carbon dioxide with unprecedented accuracy”.

Imagine the millions of dollars in line to be spent on green this and environmentally-friendly that, that would be lost if it were to be determined “with unprecedented accuracy” that carbon dioxide wasn’t THE major cause of climate change.

Now NASA (and all those in support industries) got paid to send that satellite up: all is cool. But many, many jobs would be lost (or never created) if the the truth were to come out “with unprecedented accuracy”.

The crash of the Orbiting Carbon Observatory will keep Al Gore in business as well as the environmental movement.

$278 million or not looking like millions of fools…?

I would like to think God slapped it down since He doesn’t believe in global warming, unless He makes it Himself. But hey that’s just me….

Funny – when I read about the crash, that was my very first thought.

They don’t mention it in this particular linked article, but the BBC had an article stating the the Japanese have a similar satellite already in orbit, called Gosat, that multiple agencies will now have to rely on.

This could still make them look bad, and I hope it doesn.
