I certainly hope so.
Braves legend Henry Aaron may again be baseball’s all-time home-run king. Aaron hit 755 in 23 seasons. Barry Bonds broke Aaron’s record in 2007, and with his career seemingly over, he has 762 in 22 seasons.
For the first time Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig has said he would consider a move to strip Bonds of his record for all-time home runs, according to a report.
Sure, it’s a steroid Pandora’s box. Should Mark McGwire be stripped of the single season home run record? Should Roger Clemens be stripped of the single game strikeout record?
Then again, baseball statisticians are purists as well as fairly anal people. If anyone can sort this out, it will get done for the sake of Hammerin’ Hank and all the other greats who played the game honorably.

“Hank and all the other greats who played the game honorably.”
Hear, hear! Whatever happened to sports where men were real men, men who played the best they could with what they were given instead of anime cartoon-men who are just playing out their fantasies?
Strip ‘em all. The ‘Roidheads never earned those records. They bought them, just like they would the prize in a Crackerjack Box. They’re a disgrace to the likes of Hank, Babe, Ted, et al., and an insult to all players, now and then, who play … for real.
I know my fellow North Dakotans would probably hold a state-wide celebration if Roger Maris was given his single season record back.
61 in ’61!
it was frustrating to know Bonds had done “something”..still don’t WANT to believe it. Hell, I was AT a home game when he hit home run. Damn that was exciting. His record breaking home run was exciting to watch on TV as well, even though they sadly lost that game…still torn up about Bonds & all for doing “something” and sometimes being arrogant about certain things…
Anyway, have to see how this plays out, if any past offenders get dragged through the mud, etc
This is exactly what Baseball should do and it is what they did with Maris’s record. There was the asterisk after that record season that qualified the record by denoting the difference in the no. of games. Anal for sure but nevertheless a correct distinction.
Of course they could also have a separate set of records for the “droids”.
OK, just kidding.
I say do it. Wipe the records of all these cheating bastards.
I just thought of something, though. What will the players union do if Selig goes through with this?
