MoveOn Email Of The Day
I think we’re pissing them off…
Dear MoveOn member,
This week, the Senate will vote on President Obama’s economic stimulus plan—with historic investments in green jobs, health care, and education to get our economy back on track.
But right now, the stimulus doesn’t have the votes to pass. Republicans and conservative Democrats are teaming up to strip out the good stuff—college loan assistance, health research, tax cuts for poor folks, and more—in favor of more tax cuts for corporations. If they don’t get their way, they’ll block the plan.
Last week, not a single Republican in the House voted for Obama’s plan—they didn’t think voters would ever hold them accountable. That’s why we’re asking folks to pledge now to help run ads after the vote letting the public know where key senators—both Republican and Democrat—came down on the bill. We need to get started now, so politicians and the media know their constituents are paying attention.
Can you pledge now to make sure senators know that voters will hold them accountable for their vote? You won’t need your credit card—just let us know how much you’d like to pledge.
They’re going to hold us accountable.
Yeah, like Timothy Geithner and Tom Daschle…?

speaking of geithner and daschle, i managed to trap the leftists on one of the french-language blogs i visit.
after making a point on how “transparency” is a big issue in the Obama Gov’t, I added another point, asking what they thought obama knew of the situation.
I told them that if they thought Obama did not know anything about it, then BHO was therefore naive for surrounding himself in shady characters, while reminding them that they dismissed me as a hater during the election for warning them of the same, and that only NOW they’re starting to realize it (they were criticizing Daschle on the blog)
Then I told them if they thought Obama DID know about it, then they would admit Obama was part of that Gimmick and that the LAST thing on his mind is transparency and ethics.
waiting for responses.

interesting, fboiteau, very very interesting. Speaking of good ol’ Dashcle, funny he’s trying to apologize for his tax screw-ups JUST to save his sorry ass and keep his nominated appointed post..hmm
but more to the point, it’s bullshit on MoveOn’s part to accuse us of ripping out “the good stuff” like “college loan assistance, health research, tax cuts for poor folks” etc, especially when we WANT folks to HAVE college loan assistance, we WANT there to BE health research, and we want to help out with tax breaks for the poor, right? Corporation tax cuts help too, but the libs will never figure out that corporation tax cuts create the ability to create jobs, give incentives, and get the ball rolling again
right?

You know … moveon spending money to advertise specific Republicans who didn’t vote for this future-generation-of-taxpayers funded pork-extravaganza … sounds like good, free advertising to me!
Speaking of that … Republicans need to get on the message to the young about just who exactly is going to be paying for all this mess – them!

“and we want to help out with tax breaks for the poor”
There’s nothing left to give them a break on. When the left says “tax breaks for the poor” it means let’s give them refundable credits that give them back more than they pay in. Nobody should get back more than they pay in. It should end at tax neutral.

fboiteau, my prediction, they will ignore your points and call you a racist or some other hateful term instead.

[...] least the Looney-Leftist “Progressives” are helping out Republicans! At least that’s the way I see it. Any politician that has the backbone to vote against this [...]

@ mauser:
indeed, but i love rubbing it in their faces. a talent of mine is to be able to completely shut up anyone with pure logic. i force them to admit i’m right progressively.
force them to accept one small aspect, then one more, and one more, pervasively, until, when they come to reject the main argument, you can simply tell them that they had already agreed to all your planks, so why are they in disagreement now?.
in several years of dealing with people, this method has yet to fail

fboiteau leftists if they can’t logically argue a point will call you some name and declare victory in argument lol.
Actually you can do this with any argument with the left as they are always wrong lol
