Don’t Try This At Home

Don’t screw around with your paperwork during this tax season, or any tax season for that matter. If by chance you do have difficulties, it may not work, but try responding to the IRS with this…

I am deeply embarrassed and disappointed by the errors that required me to amend my tax returns. I apologize for the errors and profoundly regret that you have had to devote time to them.

My mistakes were unintentional.
Tom Daschle, nominee to head the Health and Human Services Department

Please let me know the success rate for this recommended response, addressing your irresponsible, but unintentional mistakes.

he doesn’t look a day over 80 in the photog.
that must be a file photog.

Has anyone asked Biden whether someone who “makes a mistake” on his taxes (Daschle) is less patriotic than someone who out and out refused to pay his (the new Treasury Secretary)?

  3. Doo says:

Can I just not pay my taxes (Daschle) then get compensated for said taxes that I did not pay. (Geithner) That would be tax change I could get behind! Yes I Could!

  4. cmjcex says:

Any attorney that defends tax cheats on criminal charges should always have a video presentation of the testimonies of Geithner and Dashchle for his final arguments to the jury.

“Make no mistake, tax cheaters cheat us all, and the IRS should enforce our laws to the letter. ” Sen. Tom Daschle, Congressional Record, May 7, 1998, p. S4507.”

    What a hypocrite!

If we screw up on our taxes, we’re cheats. They refuse to pay and they’re just….forgetful. I bet there are a lot of dems seeking to amend their past returns. Quietly of course.

Just jumped over to Hot Air. And would you look at that, another Uuuuuuhbama nominee has had trouble paying taxes. Someone named Nancy Killefer for chief performance officer. What the hell ever that is. They’ve withdrawn her name though. Probably embarassed by the fact she got caught by the IRS. Or that she only cheated on $946.69. I guess if it had been $94,669 she’d cheated on, she would be golden. Hannity was right. Dems do have a problem paying taxes.
