The Gregg Set-Up
Obama, bipartisanship… my ass.
Sen. Judd Gregg has confirmed that he’s under consideration for Commerce secretary in the Obama administration, setting up a potentially serious fight between Republicans who want to keep him as a leader in the Senate chamber and a new president who wants a truly bipartisan cabinet.
The news was first reported Thursday night, but Gregg, for the first time Friday morning, confirmed that he’s being considered for the post. Gregg is one of the most respected financial experts on Capitol Hill and was an architect of the $700 billion Wall Street rescue, but if he leaves the Senate, his replacement would certainly be a New Hampshire Democrat, potentially giving Democrats the magic 60 in that chamber.
If the economy tanks, who may be the first to “resign”? If the economy tanks, who’ll get the heave: the tax cheat or the Republican? And of course, don’t forget about that Senate magic number.
Let’s see what’s greater: Judd Gregg’s devotion to party or his ego….

I’m betting the farm on ego.

i don’t think ego or party should be considered here.
the country should always be first.
hussein is only trying to get to the magic 60 number.
it can not be allowed.

With all the RINO’s in senate now Obama already has 60 plus. Gregg does not really matter as it will remove the last excuse the left has. Let Carter 2 unfold and in 2 years midterms witness reagon revolution part two.

If it looks like a set up and smells like a set up it surely isn’t a good career move. I hope he’s not sandbagged into making himself a Democratic patsy. Look out for that sucker punch.

I’ve already written him a letter.
And louielouie is right – I understand the desire to have a certain job but America is more important than our individual desires.

I don’t know what’s worse – the fact that he designed the wall street bail out or that if he goes, dems will get “magic number”

He will roll over for the Secretary title.
