Daschle: The Democrat Tax Dillema

Democrats are usually the first to push for higher taxes so they can do all the wonderful things for America they’ve always wanted to do. But for some reason, they never seem to want to donate to charitable causes and, most important, pay those taxes.

Tom Daschle, under fire for not paying taxes, made nearly $5.3 million in the last two years, records released Friday show.

Daschle, the former Senate Democratic leader who President Obama has tapped to overhaul the nation’s health care system, was paid $220,000 to give speeches to outfits that have a vested interest in the work he would do once confirmed as secretary of health and human services.

And during that same time, he kinda donated around $16,000 to charity… kinda.

During the vetting process, the Presidential Transition Team identified certain donations that did not qualify as charitable deductions because they were not paid to qualifying organizations. Senator Daschle adjusted his contribution deductions on his amended returns for 2005, 2006 and 2007 to remove these amounts and add additional contributions

If Barack Obama was so smart, how come he’s chosen so many losers to be in his administration?

Let’s hope we don’t have another Katrina.

Oh, but don’t you know — liberals are very generous when donating to charities! It’s those rich hard-hearted Republican conservatives who are so tight-fisted! (Which is why conservative Mississippi is the most generous, per capita, in the US while liberal Massachessetts gives the least….)

what about the ice storm in Arkansas?

Maybe they can get some singer who thinks more of himself then the rest of the world to say that Obama doesn’t like white people…..

    Eric, you’re bad… :-)

Personally I don’t want any tax paid at all (as it isn’t even for service rendered, if it were I would have a slightly different view on it), but you would think that the side that claims that paying taxes is patriotic would be more inclined to do so.

So far we have two unpatriotic members on Obama’s team, should we place bets on how many there end up being and who they are?

  5. Mauser Says:

We could probably wipe out the deficit by auditing all the Democrats.

What can we even say anymore when it comes to the hypocrisy of dems being tax cheats and total losers when it comes to donating their money. And I used to bust out all the time how much money Dick Cheney and his wife donated to charities (I think it was almost $7M in 2006 alone)…one decent way to shut the leftists up temporarily.
