Should Timothy Geithner Be Confirmed?

This man will be in charge of making sure WE pay our taxes, but probably wouldn’t have himself if it weren’t for the inconvenience of being selected as the Obama Administration’s Secretary of the Treasury nominee…

Perhaps the most embarrassing moment for Mr. Geithner was his attempt to evade the questions by Arizona Senator Jon Kyl on why he had only remedied the error on back taxes for two of the four years. Because the statute of limitations had run out on the 2001-2002 tax payments, Mr. Geithner was not legally required to pay them — and didn’t until a Treasury confirmation hearing seemed possible.

But instead of fessing up that he had obeyed only the letter of the law, he insisted yesterday that, gee whiz, the earlier tax dodge didn’t even occur to him — an excuse that came off as legalistic and implausible.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

Hopefully, “genius” Geithner will master TurboTax before he takes on the United States economy.

i voted yes, and this is why.
beginning with biden, i will continue to say/ask:
    SHOW ME THE CHANGE!!!!
    SHOW ME THE CHANGE!!!!

it won’t matter i know, because the liberals are just as deaf as a sack of hair is dumb.
but the libs have never been in the w/h since the internet grew up after 9/11, and i believe they should know just how it feels.

I too voted yes. A seven-year “Geithner Waiver” deferment on my taxes will mean I can deny funding to this Administration, without penalty or reprisals, even if they get a second term. Bring it on!

  4. Hoss Says:

Another person making Joe Biden’s “unpatriotic” list because they don’t pay taxes. They’re the miserly bastards when it comes to donating to charities and paying their taxes, and we’re suppose to be the selfish big, fat meanies?

Rock on Bob! I just shared your link on Facebook. Do you have a Facebook page? I searched but couldn’t find you.

  6. Kushin Los Says:

I voted no because there shouldn’t be a position of Secretary of the Treasury. Nor taxes.

  7. Kilkizan Says:

I voted yes… If this stooge can avoid having to pay for all the crap Obama is going to try and shove down our throats, at least let me choose to pay for it or not. Lets see how fast the federal budget shrinks when the tax paying population tells the non-tax paying population where to shove their imaginary government handouts.

He must really know how to outsmart Turbo Tax, cause if you put in income from a 1099-misc under box 7 it will figure out your FICA for you. So he knew he was cheating. Maybe Turbo Tax should testify against him.

  9. The Machine Says:

–And the gummint sent him a check to cover those taxes anyway!
