Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich (before the bust) and told him of certain people he deemed “unelectable” in the future, thus not acceptable for a Senate appointment. There were some people Reid didn’t have a problem with. The following article didn’t show pictures of all the players.
I’ll help them out.
Days before Gov. Blagojevich was charged with trying to sell President-elect Barack Obama’s U.S. Senate seat to the highest bidder, top Senate Democrat Harry Reid made it clear who he didn’t want in the post: Jesse Jackson, Jr., Danny Davis or Emil Jones.
Rather, Reid called Blagojevich to argue he appoint either state Veterans Affairs chief Tammy Duckworth or Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan, sources told the Chicago Sun-Times.
Of course, knowing Democrats as we do, it would be totally inappropriate to suggest race had anything to do with Reid’s suggestions. I will be interesting to hear that conversation on tape…!
Again, what would be the overall accusation if this were a Republican issue, handled this ineptly?

I had to steal this and the Griffen piece for my own blog and draw a conclusion….
