GOP Kicks Outgoing Bush

Considering the ass-whuppin’ that was Election 2008, just who are these people to kick President Bush while he’s not only down but on his way out?

Republican Party officials say they will try next month to pass a resolution accusing President Bush and congressional Republican leaders of embracing “socialism,” underscoring deep dissension within the party at the end of Mr. Bush’s administration.

Those pushing the resolution, which will come before the Republican National Committee at its January meeting, say elected leaders need to be reminded of core principles. They said the RNC must take the dramatic step of wading into policy debates, which traditionally have been left to lawmakers.

Sounds like another inside-the-beltway Republican suck-up to social and media liberals.

Will they never learn?

I think it’s less of an attack at Bush and more of a recognition of the dangerous road the Republican party has been traveling down for some time. I think that this recognition is the first step when it comes to reshaping the image of the party.
