CNN Depoliticizes Blagojevich Arrest

I was away this morning and unable to post, but I did get to watch “The most trusted name in news”.

You all know about the arrest and charges against Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. But after three hours of wall-to-wall CNN coverage this morning; coverage including the dismay, disgust, and disappointment of anchor, host, and guests, can any of you tell me the one word I didn’t hear…?

Democrat.

I guess we should be appreciative of the fact that CNN saw no reason to interject politics into this sorry chapter in American politics.

I’m actually surprised they’re not inferring he’s a Republican. It’s not like the lefties that watch CNN would question or verify.

Yes Bob … had it been a republican … the ticker on the bottom of the screen would have kept running the following:

Another Republican Busted, Another Republican Busted, Another Republican Busted, Another Republican Busted, Another Republican Busted, Another Republican Busted, Another Republican Busted, Another Republican Busted …

A corrupt Illinois politician? I’m shocked.

  4. tripper Says:

Gee, does this qualify as a “culture of corruption” yet?

A crooked illinois politician? The next thing you know, you’ll try and tell me the sky is blue and not purple.

  6. BRFan Says:

I’ve heard that before, that CNN displays R for Republican on the ticker along the bottom when a Republican is in trouble but it doesn’t do the same when it’s a Democrat. Is that really true or just perception? A website or video would be appreciated.

  7. Bob Says:

If I were home, I would have DVR’d it and posted three hours worth of video. For now, you’ll have to take my word for it.

It was twelve paragraphs deep on the Chi Tribune story I linked to.

I hope they’re not wondering why the Tribune Media Company is bankrupt ….

You all have heard of ‘political correctness’ …this is the media’s version.
