When they are threatened they will either run or fight. The instinct of fight or flight is even instinctive in humans. The big difference, is that a deer is not Bambi, that you see in the movies. They are extremely strong & if they can't flee, they will fight, like their life depended upon it. Many people are injured every year from deer "incidents". Hunters should make sure the deer is dead before approaching, as they may be in for a big surprise if they are negligent. As is the case with all wild animals, respect their "space", as they can be very dangerous when they feel threatened. Deer have one thing in common with all wild animals.
