Can someone Precis for me exactly what Barry said? Even just a smidgen of what the answer to the reporter’s question was will suffice. To me, it was a “well rounded” load of piffle. He may well laugh it off now, but I think Mr PE will have more than a barrel of laughs after inauguration day – if not before. Reporters have a habit of biting their master. In checking the spelling and meaning (results below) of ‘inauguration’ (OZ folk don’t use that word much), I came across an ad for: http://allamericanball.com/
So Bob, I suppose you will be ‘off-base’ a day or so pre & post 20 Jan. Have to iron up your Tux and spit-polish your dancing boots. Oh well, sure beats tap-dancing in a minefield.
auguration = The practice of augury;
augury = 1. the art or practice of an augur; divination. 2. the rite or ceremony of an augur. 3. an omen, token, or indication.
In relation to #44, the #3 response above, sees “more than a thrill going up my leg.”

The following from Pajamas Media seems to complicate things. Doesn’t it?
Hilllary Selection Calls Obama’s Respect for the Constitution Into Question
Her appointment as secretary of state clearly violates Article 1, Section 6 — the so-called “Emoluments Clause.”
The Emoluments Clause in Article I, Section 6 of the U.S. Constitution provides: “No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States, which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been encreased during such time.” On January 4, 2008, President Bush issued Executive Order 13454, which increased the “Emoluments” (salary) of the secretary of state position. Hillary Clinton, as an elected senator from New York at the time and with a current term of office that runs through the end of 2010, would seem to fall clearly within the definition of a “senator” under this clause.
