An Eleventh Hour “Explanation”

And of course, not by the candidate himself

HONOLULU — The state’s Department of Health director on Friday released a statement verifying the legitimacy of Sen. Barack Obama birth certificate.

The state has received multiple requests for a copy of Obama’s birth certificate. State law does not allow officials to release the birth certificate of a person to someone outside of the family.

But didn’t the Obama campaign release questionable copies? Is that proper and wouldn’t the receipt of an official birth certificate, months ago, have put this all to bed?

There were rumors that Obama was born in Kenya, where his father is from. The Constitution requires that the president be a natural born citizen of the U.S.

While many sites and news organizations have released copies provided by the Obama campaign, the rumors have persisted.

“There have been numerous requests for Sen. Barack Hussein Obama’s official birth certificate. State law (Hawai‘i Revised Statutes §338-18) prohibits the release of a certified birth certificate to persons who do not have a tangible interest in the vital record,” DOH Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino said.

Up until the day BEFORE the election, “persons who do not have a tangible interest in the vital record” included the American people, and now an explanation is “issued” less than 24 hours before voting begins.

With all due respect to Dr. Fukino, this whole thing still stinks.

I find it extremely odd that the mother’s race is “Caucasian” and the father’s race is “African.” African is not a race, “Negro” is a race. This mistake makes me think this document is not authentic.

When I first saw this birth certificate, I thought “WOW, it really has not changed much in 40 years.” My son was born in Hawaii in 1999 and his birth certificate looks almost exactly like it. Looking closer, though, I know that this is not a copy of his original birth certificate, since it was revised in November of 2001. (Rev. 11/01). Certainly makes me wonder.

During the 60′s period, Hawaii allowed a Certificate of live Birth to be recorded for babies born outside of the State of Hawaii. There was a box on the lower part of the Birth Certificate that did list the country the baby was born in. It is not on the copy shown on Obama’s web site, so it is indeed a fake. There is also supposed to be a Birth Certificate in Kenya that lists Barack Obama Jr. The Odinga organization has that information locked down, so access is denied to it as well as his Grandmother & other relatives in Kenya. Gee, I wounder why that would have been enforced? Obama wouldn’t really stoop that low would he??
