A Historic Intifada Named Barack Obama
As the left seeks to restore our standing in the world, here’s an example of how some in the world anticipate a President Obama.
The editor of the daily newspaper Al Quds Al Arabi, Abdelbari Atwan (the first journalist to have met Osama bin Laden), is in his editorial in the Nov. 3 on the U.S. elections. Under the provocative title “the intifada historic Obama,” which refers to the Palestinian intifada as leased by the newspaper, Atwan stressed that “in the absence of a disaster, Obama will be elected, and the American people, Through its vote, has launched its largest intifada.”
According to Merriam Webster, “intifada” is defined as, “Arabic intifāḍa, literally, the act of shaking off, uprising, rebellion; specifically: an armed uprising of Palestinians against Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.”
SO… “change” is an “uprising” and/or “rebellion”. Interesting.
