And considering it is the "toughest-in-the-nation voter identification law" and that was the biggest complaint about it *from the Democrats* I think it fairly safe to assume that it is not the norm in most states. Here in Iowa they've ever only asked to see my voter card and even if I didn't have it with me or was incorrect information I just filled out a sheet and was good to go into the booth.
