The Youth Indoc Payoff
We knew this day would come. All the years of liberal access to kids may bear fruit after all. With that, I again repeat that these know-it-all young liberal voters need be reminded every day that they will be held responsible for their Obama vote.
A USA TODAY/MTV/Gallup Poll of registered voters 18 to 29 years old shows Democrat Barack Obama leading Republican John McCain by 61%-32%, the most lopsided contest within an age group in any presidential election in modern times. Obama’s margin is overwhelming across four groups of younger voters, divided by their engagement in the election, their optimism about the future and other factors.
“I think he can actually relate a great deal more to our interests and values and beliefs,” says Lisa Kettunen, 24, of Otego, N.Y. Kettunen, an administrator at Hartwick College who was among those polled, particularly likes Obama’s stands on protecting the environment and forging better relations around the world. “We have a lot of really great ideas and hopes for change,” Kettunen says of her generation, “and he’s really speaking to what we want.”
All you have to do is take a good look around and see what kind of juvenile values Kettunen speaks of. Just ask Kimmel and Affleck. And the constant refrain that we must be liked around the world again is being repeated by reckless young people who arrogantly and naively go meet nice people (who turn out to be sex offenders) they met online, and some don’t survive the encounter.
Sure, go ahead. You’re in charge now. We’ll be ready when you’re ready to move back home.
Whether we let you back in or not is another issue entirely.

If it makes you feel any better, my sister runs a department at a private liberal arts college, has two masters degrees and is working on a PH.D now. She’s worked a bit with Newt Gingrich and worked at the GAO in Washington for healthcare issues and auditing the DoD a few years ago toward the beginning of the war. Her husband works as the head defensive coordinator for the same college’s football team. Both are staunchly conservative and pretty vocal about it. From my understanding they’ve been able to get people (including students) to actually think about things and what would be better for the country.
I think that’s a key issue. Many younger people are just told what to believe, including that Republicans are evil. If you leave political parties out of the conversation and just talk about what’s going on, and what would be the best course of action for everybody, and get them to think critically on the issues instead of just shoving ideas down their throats, it’s interesting on what side they usually end up.

If they were being taught to think it would be impressive. Of course, thinking is not the actual desired outcome though saying it is usually is.

My oldest Grandson is an engineering student & thinks Obama is the next best thing to Whipped Cream. I asked him where he was going to get a job after Obama taxes Businesses & Manufacturing so there can be an equalization of wealth & they leave the Country to survive. His answer was – uh, uh? Kinda like Obama’s.
