British To Respect Inmates

Of all the things to call those who commit crimes, “Mr.” would be low on my list. Then again, I don’t live in the People’s Republic of Great Britain.

A British prison is forcing its staff to prove they treat inmates decently as part of the Prison Service’s national “decency agenda,” which includes addressing all inmates, including sex offenders and violent criminals, as “Mr.,” the Telegraph reported Wednesday.

Representatives of HMP Wymott in Lancashire, which houses 1,000 prisoners, said in a letter that the test of the decency agenda is: “Would we as members of the prison service like our children to be treated in the same manner as prison staff treat prisoners today?”

Prison staff will be marked down in assessments if they do not address inmates as “Mr.” followed by their surname, the Telegraph reported.

And who’s running the prisons now?

    Would Mr. Skell be permissible?

  2. OldnyFirefighter says:

I guess I am getting too pissed off to even make comments. I need to kick some ass!

  3. OldnyFirefighter says:

It sounds like these Representatives probably had a meeting with Obama & he told the needed “Change”.

  4. Mauser says:

How about calling them “Prisoner (prisoner number here)”?

  5. Brandon says:

You can call someone Mister and still treat them like dirt. On the other hand, you can treat someone with the greatest respect and kindness and never utter the word. One has little to do with the other. It’s bad as a benchmark. If they want to treat prisoners “decently” how about not spitting in their cornflakes?

  6. The Machine says:

And the so-called “unintended consequence” of this one shall be that the title of “Mr.” will be reduced to a mere derogatory term, equivalent of calling someone a criminal.

And the socialist death-killing of the family marches on.

  7. Kaoul says:

Who’s running it? The parents of future criminals of course. They even admit it!
“Would we as members of the prison service like our children to be treated in the same manner as prison staff treat prisoners today?”

And we all know the libs are just drooling at the chance to do the same here.
