Will The Real Iran Please Stand Up?

In a broadcast of an interview on with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Friday’s Democracy Now!, Amy Goodman asked,

AMY GOODMAN: So, do you think Israel should be eliminated?

PRESIDENT MAHMOUD AHMADINEJAD: [translated] We believe that people have to decide and choose their own fate, the right to self-determination. If they would like to keep the Zionists, they can stay; if not, they have to leave. What do you think the people there want?

Well, it looks like some of the Iranian people have spoken.

Iranians chanted “Death to Israel” on Friday as Islamist students unveiled a book mocking the Holocaust in an Al-Quds (Jerusalem) Day annual parade to show solidarity with the Palestinians.

And in Gaza City, the Islamist Hamas movement that has ruled the impoverished Palestinian territory since June 2007 marked the day by calling for more suicide attacks on Israel.

Knowing nations like Iran, people mirror the sentiments of their leader (or else…), so while Goodman spoke to a kinder, gentler Ahmadinejad, it would appear the Mahmoud we all know and love still has his crosshairs on Israel, while liberals like Goodman take him at his word.

I heard part of the speech. What was with all the “brotherhood, freedom, peace, tolerance garbage out of Ahkmadenijad’s mouth?

I actually watched this interview! LOL The whack job lied up and down, and Goodman just sat there smiling…

It’s still on the DVR if you need the video.

The twisted evil view that democracy is 4 wolves and a lamb voting on what’s for dinner.

    See Jimmah Carter for details.

    See Dr. Strangelove for solutions.
