Barney And Lindsay Sound Off On Palin
What a political day we live in where the political world could see the relevance in the opinions of Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank and actress Lindsay Lohan. Today is one of those unique days.
During an Associated Press interview, Frank said Sarah Palin’s family background, including the pregnancy of her unwed teenage daughter, is on the table.
They’re the ones that made an issue of her family.
Apparently she’s a great favorite with the conservative social movement. They have said that it’s liberalism and liberals who have undermined families — same-sex marriage has been a problem, they don’t want gay people to adopt … This helps undercut those arguments.
Well, hers is a family in great turmoil. She fired the state police commissioner because he wouldn’t fire her sister’s ex-husband. She has a daughter who became pregnant. That’s not her fault.
Palin’s family doesn’t appear in turmoil, but if anyone knows turmoil when he sees it, it’s Barney Frank.
Contrast that with the more tempered musings of Lindsay Lohan…
I’ve been watching the news all morning, like everyone else — and (I) keep hearing about the issues related to ’teen pregnancy.’ … Well, I think the real problem comes from the fact that we are taking the focus off of getting to know Sarah Palin and her political views, and what she can do to make our country a less destructive place.
I get Sarah Palin’s views against abortion, but I would much prefer to hear more about what she can do for our country rather than how her daughter is going to have a child no matter what. Maybe focus on delivering some words and policy with stronger impact like Joe Biden.
I think that parents need to recognize how important it is to talk to their children about the things that can result from being sexually active if they aren’t protecting themselves (birth control, condoms, etc.).
As Barack Obama has urged us to lay off the families, I’ll not comment on that of Lindsay Lohan and her being the last person to talk about parenting.
What a day.

They got mighty pissed that Michelle Obama got her words slung back at her, and she made herself part of the campaign. But go ahead, make the kids a part of the campaign lefties, just don’t get pissed when it comes back to haunt you.

Aaaaah! Google is running an ad for a gay dating service. Ya see, bad things are bound to happen when Barney Franks name appears in a post. Why couldn’t they run an ad for a dating service for dumb, hot bleach blondes?

And it’s pretty damn sad that Lindsay Lohan comes across as being smarter that Franks. Not much mind you, but a little.
