The media wants to assure us Democrats can get things right by their people, and there’s no better place to start than with Ray “school bus” Nagin.
Ray Nagin’s rhetoric was tough – calling Hurricane Gustav “the mother of all storms” – but his demeanor was confident and cool as he ordered the second evacuation of his city in three years.
It was a stark contrast to the desperation in the mayor’s voice as he begged state and federal officials for help while Hurricane Katrina’s floodwaters overwhelmed New Orleans in 2005.
Harshly criticized for his reactive handling of Katrina three years ago, Nagin is changing his tactics and responding more quickly in hopes of capitalizing on the rarest of political commodities – a second chance.
We’re all being told not to play politics with this pending Act of God. Maybe the media should’ve read the memo as well.

Gov Jindal got the ball rolling, but rest assured the media will give all the credit to “Nutty Nagin”
Democrats on camera taking the credit for the hard work of Conservatives who are not on camera because they are hard at work making it so.
Like LBJ signing the Civil Rights bill that he and his fellow Dems spent their lives fillibustering against, they are always onhand to take the credit and many fall for it hook, line and sinker every time.
Media has always been complicit.
Didn’t Jindal already say everybody had to get out?
