Quote Of The Day

Not that it bothers me personally, but was this the no-tie, business-casual zone?
Asked at what point a baby gets “human rights,” Obama, who strongly supports abortion rights, said: “… whether you’re looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity … is above my pay grade.”
— Barack Obama, on abortion during a televised forum with “mega-pastor” Rick Warren
Isn’t President of the United States kinda like the top pay grade?

McCain won an impressive victory last night. He made BHO look like some high school intellectual wannabe using flowery equivocations to cover his lack of knowledge or conviction.
McCain was sharp, concise, and “presidential”.
BTW: On the question of when did you reach across the aisle… BHO pointed to his collaboration with McCain on the Senate Ethics Committee for reforms. I don’t know how many caught it, but the Fox News team pointed out that, before the final bill was presented for a vote, BHO retreated and deferred to his Democratic colleague side and voted against the bill. Way to reach out, Mr. O.

It was a clumsy answer – that’s going to be good for sound-bite fodder for his opposition.
I am pretty happy knowing that at least one guy in the running considers theological answers above his pay-grade. As it should be.
Scientific ones .. I’m not so sure about.

You mean those same scientific answers we get concerning anthropomorphic global warming or do you mean the kind of scientific answers we got a couple of decades back about how we were all gonna freeze to death or do you mean the scientific answer of the Big Bang Theory?
Big Bang Theory for Dummies:
1) First there was nothing.
2) Then it exploded.
Those scientific answers?

Obama is strongly for abortion. The liberals are aborting their future. According to statistics, more Black babies per capita are aborted in the US than any other race. Although black women make up 6% of the population, they comprise 36% of the abortion industry’s clientele.

I was thinking actual science. Because the executive branch has a lot of say-so in implementing science and engineering related mattes.
He doesn’t have to be Mr. Wizard, but I’d like for him to be able to (say) understand what makes rockets go ‘whoosh’ even in space. We’re talking high-school level, obviously, but you have to draw the line somewhere.
Failing that he could appoint an actual science adviser who knows his butt from a hole in the ground. A respected guy who is personable, able to communicate to the public knows who to talk to when he’s out of his area of expertise. Somebody like Neil DeGrasse-Tyson would fit the bill.

But given his voting record on the issue, it is obvious that he has a position on the matter. Why not say it instead of acting as if the matter is in the hands of a higher power?
