Just caught up with this teacher! We spoke about how many teachers and mainly Special Needs teachers get seriously hurt on the job! I was in a self-contained program that was not up to the standards the School Board had agreed to where I lost my knee to a student!
This was a Bi-polar student who had been arrested in Hawaii the year before for hurting his one-on- one!
This student flipped desks, threw tables and serious hurt other children and took out my PCL! At 46 years of age I had a brand new knee and two years late had the second one replaced because of the damage this student did after he was put into the timeout room.
Can you say Workman’s Comp is JOKE! The program shut down and poof – The student was forced to move to attend an alternative school. Five years later I am still waiting for an answer on why my PCL went missing! I was golfing three times a week, and my career is over! Lawyers!
It would be interesting for someone to take an interest in what we teachers that work with Special Needs with Emotional Issue have to combat in the classroom everyday with no support.

There was a scientific study done years ago that found a physical connection between chromosomes and behavior. They found that males with an extra Y chromosome were pathological bullies and thugs. Maybe we should test all boys when they are born?

I hope that “special therapeutic school” was the state juvenile correctional system. And I’ll bet the rest of the students were getting some nice quality, uninterrupted education while little Damien was acting like somebody was poking him with a cross and throwing holy water on him.

The day can’t come soon enough when this kid puts his hands on the wrong kid and WHAM! There goes some teeth…but, of course I’m sure his parents are probably the type to sue automatically if that does happen.

More evidence the public school system nowadays is a lost cause. I am sure there are districts that are top notch but the reality is many districts are hopeless because they are a) top heavy with bureaucrats b) no matter how incompetent a person is they remain on the taxpayer dole c) only mediocrity is sanctioned by the national education association and d) the name of the school should be changed to “future felon elementary school”.

Ok the last one has nothing to do with the lost cause scenario but if they did change the name as I recommended then teachers and parents would at least know the school the child was going to is a breeding ground for future inmates.

Isn’t it kind of like “truth in advertising” or the warning notices on Cigarette packs.
