Another Not-As-I-Do Moment

Don’t worry, I’m not going to pick on Obama here solely. While the linked example is about him, there are many other examples of the left dictating rules for society they exempt themselves of. Just ask Al Gore…

I’ll continue to stand up for equal pay as president – Senator McCain won’t, and that’s a real difference in this election. The choice could not be clearer.
Barack Obama, during a round table discussion in Albuquerque, N.M., 6/23/08

While Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has vowed to make pay equity for women a top priority if elected president, an analysis of Obama’s Senate staff shows that women are outnumbered and out-paid by men. In contrast, in Republican presidential candidate John McCain’s Senate office, women, for the most part, out-rank and are paid more than men, analysis by CNSNews.com Staff Writer Fred Lucas of the latest available salary data shows.

Doesn’t anyone in the Obama camp check things out before they allow the candidate to look the fool?

On average, women working in Obama’s Senate office were paid at least $6,000 below the average man working for the Illinois senator. Of the five people in Obama’s Senate office who were paid $100,000 or more on an annual basis, only one was a woman.

For Obama employees making more than $23,000 a year, the average pay was $59,207 for the 33 men and only $48,730 for the 31 women. (The average pay for all 36 male employees on Obama’s staff was $55,962; and the average pay for all 31 female employees was $48,729).

McCain employed a total of 69 people during the reporting period ending in the fall of 2007, but 23 of them were interns. Of his non-intern employees, 30 were women and 16 were men. After excluding interns, the average McCain employee’s pay was $59,104 for women and $56,629 for men.

I’m sure the Obama campaign will have some excuse, some staffer to throw under the bus, and some racist motivation to pin this on, instead of his repeated failure to watch what he says. If President Bush had made the same statements Obama’s made (and had Obama’s hiring record), the left would be justifiably screeching all day.

Instead, we’ll be accused of picking on a great man, while his female employees are kept in their place.

However this could be a good day, as I’ll bet a few of Obama’s staffers will receive an unexpected, and very public pay raise…!

Not when they think they can get away with it. This election is so different. The public doesn’t have to rely on the biased media for the “fact” and they can get the other point of view on the net. There are just more “fact checkers” getting the truth out on the net.

    More shuckin’ and jivin’.

Jay Val was half-right. He’s being held to a different standard because he’s a black liberal. Period.

EDIT to above: Liberal being the operative word.
