The true nature of the left is being revealed for all to see. The very people who champion free speech and inclusion are being censored by their own in support of Barack Obama.
It looks like Google has officially joined the Barack Obama campaign and decided that its contribution would be to shut down any blog on the Google owned Blogspot.com blogging system that has an anti-Obama message. Yes, it sure seems that Google has begun to go through its many thousands of blogs to lock out the owners of anti-Obama blogs so that the noObama message is effectively squelched. Thus far, Google has terminated the access by blog owners to 7 such sites and the list may be growing. Boy, it must be nice for Barack Obama to have an ally powerful enough to silence his opponents like that!
What’s next, YouTube?
It turns out that there is an interesting pattern where it concerns the blogs that Google’s Blogspot team have summarily locked down on their service. They all belong to the Just Say No Deal coalition, a group of blogs that are standing against the Obama campaign. It seems the largest portion of these blogs are Hillary supporting blogs, too.
All I can say is, WOW! If Google is willing to abuse its power like this even against fellow leftists, what does it plan against conservatives, the folks Google hates even more!?

Any one from the left care to comment on this…………any one?
They probably can’t hear you as they have Gmail accounts…
Maybe it’s like I said, most of what you guys do is spread vitriolic messages, innuendo, and lies in your chatter, through name calling, persistent lies, and things to do cross the lines to racism. etc. Get to the heart of the matter and analyze his politics and his positions–and stop with the mean-spiritedness. Maybe you could keep your Google blogs.
NAME ONE LIE, Jay Val (or Obama internet attack dog, whoever you are)! And who are YOU to say that people can keep their blogs if they say ONLY what you and Google authorize, using your liberal phrases and talking points? Despite the normal liberal arrogance and superiority complex, we’re not stupid and on to you.
You sound like an ObamaBot and are this close to being blocked. Two can play this game.
So much for free speech.
Well I see the Fairness Doctrine applies to Google…how sad censorship is already happening and the liberals have their finger prints all over it!! This country is going into the toilet!
Jay Val, were you also involved in taking down Bush signs in the 2004 election that was happening all across the county? And you have the nerve to state “most of what you guys do is spread vitriolic messages, innuendo, and lies in your chatter, through name calling, persistent lies, and things to do cross the lines to racism. etc.” If you ask me, its people like you who spread those nasty things and call yourself a Republican. Remember Jay, it was the DOMOCRATIC PARTY that started the white hooded clan call KKK! And you have the balls to call us racists!
Christine,
If Jay Val ever called himself a Republican, I wouldn’t believe it. His talking point recitations are right out of a Think Progress forum.
Over two hours later, and Jay Val hasn’t answered the challenge to name one lie.
Assuming that the troll hasn’t been banned, I’m going consider Mr Parks the T Boone Pickens of the blogosphere and bet that our little Leftard will have the same luck with this blog as the Left has had with Swiftboat Vets For Truth.
Jay Val and other moonbats still haven’t learned that it ain’t 1968 any more and Walter Goebbels Cronkite is no longer the only game in town.
You people on the Left have already started making fun of McCain’s time as a POW, much the same as you went after Admiral Stockdale. Your party has no honor, no decency, no courage, and no class.
Walk a mile in McCain’s shoes, why don’t you? Never mind. You wouldn’t make it three steps before you fell to your knees and betrayed your nation, your family, and everyone who serves with you if they just don’t hurt you anymore.
Sorry Jay Val, didn’t mean to get your panties in a bind. Still waiting for you to name one lie.
Okay, Jay Val is back; guessed you missed me I don’t know if Bob has blocked me yet, but let me be clear: I amnot a Repub. never said I was; I am a Democrat, I am black, I am an Obama supporter and I am as American as apple pie!! I believe in free speech–true free speech however! Sometimes what I read on this blog from folks is lies, innuendo (like Obama being a Muslim!); sometimes yall stretch the truth, you spin stuff so that the truth is not clear; and you name call and accuse folks of being un-American; see Brotio’s comments about me and other “moonbats” who would “betray our nation, family and everyone else” Duh! This type of vitriolic language is so typical of what SOME conservatives have been doing for a long time. It’s tiresome now and even Google must have figured out that this nasty discourse (first used against the Clintons) is only designed to bring down a decent man like Obama. That’s why they may have blocked some of the right wing access. Too much of what you say is junk. Bob Parks and I have been writing to one another on a similar matter-go and read some of those. Im all for free speech and I am all for a debate between politicians and I don’t blindly believe everything a Dem. or a Repub. says or does-but I can decipher fact from fiction and crap from real discourse. Most of the folks on this blog seem to be full of the former.
JV,
I don’t know what brought you to this site. You clearly are opposed to everything we believe, and maybe because I’m black you don’t understand why I don’t “blindly” support that “decent man” Obama.
I don’t support him because Im opposed to his policies, as vague as some are, and as wrong as some are. Of all the websites, why you decided to come here and pick a fight is your business, but again, if you accuse people (and myself) of lying, then I’d appreciate it if you cited specifics.
And as I haven’t blocked you (and would never do so because it’s a public service to see liberals in action), I guess that makes me better than the Google whose actions you justify.
I must agree with you Bob, the “presentation” was too well rehearsed as talking points and as stated by brotio it’s been “Over two hours later and Jay Val hasn’t answered the challenge to name one lie”. But I still feel there are many lefties out there pretending to be from the right wing to stir trouble. I know there are enough right nut wings out there, but they don’t need any help! I’m a moderate and I don’t see much happening in the middle anymore, expect Dems wanting to take more tax $$$ from me. I will become a victim under their rule!
And one last thing.
Jay spoke of lies. He registered here, as most of you have. I’ve seen his email address and pardon the stereotyping, but his last name doesn’t fit a black mold. Just because you throw in a few “y’all”s, doesn’t make one black.
It could make HIM the liar.
HOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY
Bob
I’m not a democratic operative! I have my own mind and my own talking points, thank you very much! I follow politics, I love it, and I always have. I try to understand the right wing/conservative perspective because Ireally don’t get it. I do see the same trends from the past 8 years–the name calling, questioning of patriotism, etc. Blogging on your site has been fun but I will tone it down since you really don’t seem to want to hear a divergant view and it seems that I do get under your skin a bit. I am a democrat, sometimes lieral, and I just want everybody to be happy! Kum-ba-yah, and all that!
No, I really am an african american, like Bob. And like Bob and Barack, I can read, write, and spell (even though I make typos), speak English and form complete sentences. So let’s move past this particular stereotype and stick to the politics.
Wow. Seeing as there was no name calling before JV’s original post….leftist playbook? Simply stunning how people just bring up the “picking on the good man” crap with nothing to back it. JV …I challenge you to post one vote Obama ACTUALLY voted on that benefitted the populuos of the country. (One where he didn’t toe the party line or just vote Present”. That’s all I ask…please? I just ask people the research who they vote for.
Hi tv2112-here is my one vote that would have benefitted the populous of the country: The vote on the WAR in IRAQ. He voted no, remember? He voted NO when it wasn’t popular to do so; he voted NO when the other 99 Senators (maybe fewer) voted YES. That was in 2002, during his first term in the Senate. He had courage then and has courage now to want to be president-to clean up this mess the country is in. Is that good enough?
So Jay, as a black man how do you feel about the Dems being the one who started the KKK? To me (white 55 yr old woman), the demos have kept the blacks under their hand for only votes and they are doing it with the Latino votes too. Sure they gave you public housing and food stamps but they took away your dignity. Told you not to think or worry, the government will take care of. Why is crime so high in the black population? Please explain that to me. And don’t give me this last 8 years bull shit. I spent 10 yrs in the burbs of Philly in the 1990’s and it’s still NOT the city of brotherly love. Thank goodness I’m back home on the west coast but yet in another liberal state
Hi Christine, a lot of your premise about food stamps, govt handouts, public housing, KKK, etc. is outdated now. Blacks have progressed greatly in this country and also reject these old ideas. The part about the Dems using us is also outdated. Many blacks figured out a long time ago that both parties use us. But since we have to participate in the system (and not all do of course), we have to choose the party that is going to best represent what we want. Clearly, at this moment in time, that is the Democrats. The Repubs. I believe, blew their chance over the past 8 years. Blacks are also declaring independent in large numbers. As for the violence, that is not an outdated thing; it is alive and well in these modern times. Black on black crime is high because of lots of things, including drugs in this country, lack of jobs, broken homes, violent depictions throughout our media and society; mostly, it is personal responsibility. No one has to kill another or rob someones house or steal their purse. As a white woman, you maynot know that in black communities, people fight against violence; they stand up against it and do all they can to eliminate it. Sometimes you can feel powerless to stop it because guns are on the street; drugs on some corners, and the police are at the police station and not patrolling the areas. I could go on about what more America could do (like enact sensible gun laws) but someone would probably just accuse me of being a victim or a bleeding heart liberal.
Question for Christine –now it’s my turn to ask you a question: why do some white women hate Sen.Obama? And if it’s not hate, forgive my use of the word. But what is it? He did nothing to white women as far as I could tell. He was overly sweet to Hillary too. He won the primaries with more than 18 million votes. So what’s really up? What don’t the Hillary supporters like him? He is pro-choice. He is obviously pro-family and a Christian. He is against the war and wants to bring troops (their sons and husbands) home; So say what really bothers them? Help me understand.
Jay
“I believe in free speech–true free speech however!”
Would you please explain the difference between “free speech” and “_true_ free speech”?
“He voted NO when it wasn’t popular to do so; he voted NO when the other 99 Senators (maybe fewer) voted YES. That was in 2002, during his first term in the Senate.”
Uh… Obama was not even elected to the US Senate until 2004 so there’s no way he could have voted against the war in 2002.
“…a lot of your premise about food stamps, govt handouts, public housing, KKK, etc. is outdated now. Blacks have progressed greatly in this country and also reject these old ideas.”
Uh…food stams, public housing etc. are still ongoing public dole handouts and if they are “outdated” and blacks have “progressed greatly” then why are so many blacks still so dependent on these programs? If anything is outdated it is the Black Liberation Theology that keeps so many blacks entrapped in a angry, hate filled, I am a victim of “whitey” mentality.
I am a white lady of age (66) and I don’t trust Obama. I don’t like the people that have influenced his life (Rev. Wright, Rezko, et al). He keeps having to throw his “people” under the bus. I’m not convinced that the “positive” influences in his life are the kind of people I want appointed as Chief Justices, or Cabinet positions. On foreign policy matters, I think he’s dangerous and naive. His answer to everything seems to be TAX IT. He may be a Harvard Law graduate, but his knowledge of geography and history are sorely lacking (57 states?). His glib and cavalier tossing out of “facts” is almost funny. For example, he says 36 million citizens are without health coverage, yet that figure includes 12 million illegal aliens that I’m supposed to stand in line behind in the emergency room at the hospital.
Why won’t he hand over a certified copy of his birth certificate? Why does he shy away from his Muslim heritage even though he is a converted Christian. Isn’t that throwing your father, grandfather and step father under the bus?
Come on Jay, who’s the one who doesn’t “get it”. You be shuckin’ and jivin’ me.
JV,
Nope that one vote doesn’t do it. As being currently in the military, and having been to Iraq twice now I do not think this war is illegal, bad, or all the other whining Dems do. We liberated a country from a ruthless dictator. How would Obama “fix” it? Pixie dust? More talk of change? The only way to fix it is let our troops do their job without all the surrender and retreat banter. Most of the folks I served with last tour want to go back. Yes there is danger of being killed, but that’s different from walking in Detroit how?
And like Bob and Barack, I can read, write, and spell (even though I make typos), speak English and form complete sentences. So let’s move past this particular stereotype and stick to the politics.
JV-
Funny, I never implied you were “writing white”. I’m just unsure of your true motivations here.
And I’m still waiting for your example of a lie being told here. There are serious issues in need of discussion, and when Senator Obama won’t dignify us with an answer, the issues remain unresolved.
Not our fault, but his.
Honestly Bob, we both know that he won’t point out any of those “lies”.
Then again, reading those comments has been rather entertaining, especially with those defensive “i can read” comment JV posted, while no one even attacks him. But hey, this is typical liberal behavior. Never answer a question, just pretend you were attacked…
About Google blocking those 7 blogs, I’m not surprised. Google DID finance over 300,000$ to Obama’s campaign…
Actually, Newsbusters has updaed their report to state that the fault is not Google’s at all, but rather Obama hacktivists who used the anti-spam feature to “trick” Google into temporarily freezing the sites.
But does any of this even matter? Those Obama hacktivists may have temporarily tricked Google into shutting down seven anti-Obama blogs, but in response, as demonstrated by Newsbusters, conservative bloggers have been flooding cyberspace with a torrent of reporting and their own opinions on the story. In the end, who has really won the day?
http://thenerfherder.blogspot.com/2008/06/obama-hacktivists-at-it-again.html
Hey Bob and friends! This is probably the most fun yall ever had! 26 comments – many of them resulting from my post about “true free speech” I’m glad to know that I am educating you a little bit. If I had time I would respond to all your questions, comments and name calling but Bob is threatening to cut me off because my posts are too long and my points well made. So all Im going to say is I wish I had time to debate you but I have to get to work so that I don’t end up on welfare getting food stamps, living in public housing and being victimized, you know, the outdated priniciples many whites still like to apply to blacks. Talk later!
Quick note to swampy: thanks for helping me understand why white women like you hate Barack. It’s because of his dang birth certificate! Kidding aside, you do seem to have bought into the stereotypes about him; that he is a Muslim, don’t know there are 50 states, he doesn’t have facts straight, etc. I got it. Thanks for the insight.
how nice, 2 additionnal comments, not one addressing the questions we asked, and accusations of insulting him. i re-read the comments, and not one of us even insulted him.
and jay, your points are far from well made, you have neglected to explain every single one of them.
Alright fboiteau, at the risk of getting kicked out of Bob’s world, here are the recent lies I’ve read on this site: Obama is a Muslim; his birth certificate may be bogus; Rev Wright & Rezko are his influences; he doesn’t respect John McCain’s war record; he will have us in Socialism, etc.
here are a few of the persistent ignorant types of things that go back & forth: his birth certificate is bogus; his wife has a big mouth that will be his undoing; they are elitist; the terrorist in Iraq will love him; he is unpatriotic and doesn’t like America; etc.
here is the political spin stuff: he is a flip-flopper; he will have us paying higher taxes; he will be friends with the Muslim countries; his 20 years of working in Chicago means nothing; no experience, and I could go on.
You have to admit that a lot of this is just junk. But it goes on endlessly with some of the folks on this stream. Face it. I’m sure there’s lots more; I just discovered this site last month!
Hey swampy: When you wrote this, I laughed out loud: “For example, he says 36 million citizens are without health coverage, yet that figure includes 12 million illegal aliens that I’m supposed to stand in line behind in the emergency room at the hospital.”
Is your problem really that you don’t like anybody who’s not white, like the 12 million illegals you refer to? It seems that you have other issues unrelated to Barack’s policies.
One last question for Jay Val. Do you believe that Obama will actually post an authentic birth certificate on his web site? if so, when?
Regarding the birth certificate, do we really have a right to see it? Do we really want the world to know how much we weighed at birth? How much did George Bush weigh? Or John McCain? I don’t think he should post the birth certificate but he probably will, since he has nothing to hide in his citizenry. He is being held to a different standard because he is black. Period.
“and you name call and accuse folks of being un-American” – Jay Val
Did I accuse the Democratic Party of being un-American? No. I accuse them of being anti-American. The list of Democratic leaders who have actively sought failure, and/or who would like to see America be subservient to the rest of the world include: Barack Obama, Jack Murtha, John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Jimmy Carter, Ted Kennedy, Dennis Kucinich, and John Edwards, just to get the ball rolling.
Let me be clear. I don’t know if Jay Val personally would betray our nation, his family, and those who serve with him rather than endure the torture that McCain endured, although I admit that sloppy writing in my earlier post implied that. I do assert that the leaders I named in this post would betray their nation and those they serve with in a heartbeat, and that many already have (Kerry, Murtha, Carter, Pelosi).
Jay Val also claims that Google is pulling those blogs because “too much of what you say is junk”. I’m really curious if any blogs got shut down that parroted Pete Stark’s, “… if we can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the president’s amusement.” Of course, that’s not junk since it’s about a Republican, eh Jay? I don’t suppose Google would ever yank nasty discourse (first used against Goldwater) which is only designed to bring down a decent man like Bush?
Jay Val…I can’t speak for other white women; I don’t want Obama to be President because… 1) I feel Obama is owned by George Soros and the Moveon.org group and MUST do what they say or else (remember what they did to Hillary?). 2) I feel he is too liberal and not willing to work with Republicans to better our country…our way or the highway .3) Why did he stay with a church for 20 years that trashes America? And you can thank the Dems for black on black crime. Why try to improve one self if the government is going to give you housing and food stamps and all you had to do is vote them into office. Oh one more thing, look at how the Clintons are reacting to him!!!
“He is being held to a different standard because he is black.”
No, Jay. He is being held to a different standard because he is running for public office, specifically President of the United States. And this means that he is going to lose some anonymity that he would have had as a private citizen.
Yes, his birth certificate is important for a simple reason: The Constitution in this country is quite clear about who is legally allowed to hold the office of President. If McCain can be under that microscope because he was not born within the United States, Obama can to.
And frankly, I have no respect for someone who is that evasive and cannot answer simple questions. If he can’t handle the softball stuff without layers of advisors, it does not speak well for his ability to handle major problems.
Please, he can’t even handle softballs with layers of advisers. But, you know, maybe I’m just bitter and clinging.
To Christine: Okay, at least you stated why don’t want Barack to be president. Thanks. Some of what you think isnot quite accurate; he is very pragmatic and has reached across the aisle plenty of times to work with Repubs. That somewhat annoys me that he reaches out to compromise, but that’s okay. It’s the system.
As far as the church thing goes, here is a man who believes in God and has faith. I don’t hold that against him at all. And after all, if you (we, America) can forgive Catholic priests for what they did over the centuries, we can surely have compassion for a man who attended church on Sundays. I think you and others really do know that nobody agrees with everything their ministers, reverends, priests, or Rabbis say. But they don’t necessarily give up the faith because of it. The whole thing with Rev. Wright has/is really just a way to try to diminish an otherwise worthy candidate and decent patriotic man.
To Pete: Again, I ask: How much did George Bush weigh at birth? How much did John McCain weigh at birth? Where are their birth certificates? This is a stupid argument actually. I know that candidates give up a lot of personal info, like their taxes, income, etc. That’s fine. But the birth certificate is a new standard being applied to a black man. Frankly, I can read between the lines and see your bitterness. Barack answers questions put to him by media all the time. He is not evasive; in fact many of us thinks he “doth talk too much” and allows the media to ask him anything they want. Sometimes, I personally think he needs to tell the media where to go. But he won’t because he knows that people like you will take that as evasivness, something to hide, blah blah blah. Anti-American and un-patriotic aren’t they same? Regardless if they are or not, why is that you think the politicians you named would sellout America? It is a stupid statement that can’t be proven. You might need to stop listening to some of those right-wing crazies out. They are steering you in the wrong direction and its no wonder you are so bitter.
Oh please. I didn’t see any liberals standing up and decrying the false rumor that McCain wasn’t a US citizen because he was born in Panama on the US base there. Where was your outrage then?
He is evasive. His speeches are so much empty rhetoric — just like every other politician — all the while saying he’s some sort of “new” politician. Hope! Change! Please, I had my fill of that with Cadillac Deval. He changed the drapes and nothing else.
Pete, you wrote: ” Oh please. I didn’t see any liberals standing up and decrying the false rumor that McCain wasn’t a US citizen because he was born in Panama on the US base there. Where was your outrage then?” NO ONE CARED. NO ONE QUESTIONED MCCAIN’S CITIZENTRY EXCEPT THE MEDIA. THAT’S WHY THERE WAS NO OUTRAGE AND THE STORY LASTED ONE DAY! U.S. DEMOCRATS CAN SPOT JUNK WHEN WE SEE IT. THE MEDIA PUTS IT OUT THERE TO SEE WHO WILL BITE-THEY DO THE SAME THING TO OBAMA BUT HE IS HELD TO A MUCH HIGHER STANDARD OF COURSE. YOUR OPINION ABOUT OBAMA BEING EVASIVE IS YOUR OPINION. I HAPPEN TO BELIEVE THAT HE TALKS TOO MUCH SOMETIMES, WHICH GIVES RIGHT-LEANING HATERS LIKE YOU FODDER TO DISSECT AND ATTACK.
Sorry for the all caps. I wasn’t screaming; just hit the caps lock button mistakenly.
I was one of the bloggers shut down by Blogger. I moved to WordPress, and while it’s not perfect, I like it better than Blogger.
As for Jay Val, where do I start?
Question for Christine –now it’s my turn to ask you a question: why do some white women hate Sen.Obama? And if it’s not hate, forgive my use of the word. But what is it? He did nothing to white women as far as I could tell. He was overly sweet to Hillary too.
We don’t HATE him. And it’s not just “white women” who object to Senator Obama. Check this post (Blogger) out for just SOME of my reasons for objecting to his candidacy. It has nothing to do with his color. More than forty years ago, Martin Luther King looked forward to the day that we would all be judged, not on the color of our skin, but the content of our character. Well, I’ve examined Barack Obama’s character and found it without principle or core.
Here’s the question that I always pose to Obama supporters, and NEVER have gotten an answer for. I’ve asked it for months from every Obama supporter who has come to my blog and tried to get me to see the wonderfulness that is Obama.
Question: You tell me he’s progressive and that he will stand up for the American people. Really? Name me ONE issue that he has gone to the mat for? Taken heat for? Lost and continued to fight for? Name me ONE. I can tell what issues Hillary Clinton has taken on, gotten smacked down and continued to fight for. I can show you specific examples of where she has REALLY worked across the aisle for veterans, seniors, children and families. You can talk about all the HOPE!® and CHANGE!® you want, but unless you can demonstrate where Obama’s actually done it, spare me. As a 52-year-old woman, I’ve been around the block a time or two, and have seen more than my share of smooth talkers like Barack before. Talk is easy. Doing is hard.
He did nothing to white women as far as I could tell.Dude, you need to get out of your Hopey Changey world and go check out some Hillary blogs. Plenty of info for you there. But here’s just the latest.
To Bluelyon: Hi there. You asked me the following: Question: You tell me he’s progressive and that he will stand up for the American people. Doing is hard.”
Well, here is my answer: He fought for health care for poor children in Chicago. That was good enough for me; he fought against this war through his speaking out against it when it was not at all fashionable to do so; he has been quite correct in his assesments and insights; he constantly fights for the middle class-he is the only one talking about the middle class at this moment; he is known to have worked with both sides of the aisle as a state legislator-which is where the real work of government gets done since states regulate our daily lives; I could go on but it won’t make much differenc to you I’m sure. Suffice it to say that you don’t like him and I do. I believe he will continue to work hard for the people of this country. As for Hillary, she is of course now singing a different tune; everybody’s lovey dovey now, especially since she needs her bills paid. At any rate, I don’t hate Hillary; I just didn’t believe that she was the right person at this time; this country needs to move forward and do you really believe that the Republicans out there would have ever let Hillary forget about the Clinton years?! Heck no. Thankfully, Obama’s 18.5 million primary voters could see this one coming. Thankfully, we voted to move forward.
