With all the investigations being mounted by Senator Leahy and Congressman Waxman, the screechs from the progressive left and their Democrat politicians, and the many recitations that we are losing the Iraq War by Senators Pelosi and Reid, it would appear the only losers are on Capitol Hill….
UPI Poll: Congress worse than Bush on Iraq
Published: July 26, 2007WASHINGTON, July 26 (UPI) — Respondents to a UPI-Zogby International poll give the U.S. Congress very bleak grades on its handling of the leadership — said control of Congress changed hands last year because of promises to change U.S. policies on the Iraq war, U.S. residents who took part in a Zogby interactive poll shoved already sour congressional markings on the war down further.
More than three-quarters — 75.1 percent — said handling of the war was “poor,” up substantially from the 59.5 percent who gave the same grade in June polling. Another 20.8 percent gave Congress a “poor” grade on Iraq in July, down from 34.6 percent in June.
Now while the polling data doesn’t look good for the Democrat leadership, it would appear the poll questions may have been misleading (to use Media Matters verbiage) at best.
During the run up to last fall’s election, do you remember Nancy Pelosi being out of the spotlight? Do you remember anyone, aside from the activists and their media, saying the election was all about Iraq? I remember it being about the Republican “culture of corruption”, “macaca”, and Mark Foley. Didn’t hear too much about the war.
Oh well, let the liberals continue to live in their little fantasy world.
