I continue to be overwhelmed and humbled by the response to the video I produced and later posted on YouTube. If the present rate of viewing continues, that number will exceed all the views of my columns over the past five years.
With all the comments that have come in, that I don’t have the time to answer all of, a number of expected disagreements from liberal Democrats have also arrived and I’d like an opportunity to respond to a few of them. As I can appreciate the notion that those liberals appreciate free-speech and tolerance, I would have them tolerate my free-speech in rebuttal.
According to the “Democratic Party” website….
“For more than 200 years, the Democratic Party has represented the interests of working families, fighting for equal opportunities and justice for all Americans.”
Please feel free to read some of my previous columns where I cite the real history of the Democratic Party that includes the promotion of slavery, resistance to civil rights for black people, the creation of the Ku Klux Klan, targeting black babies to grow the abortion industry, and much, much more.
I bring up this point to set up one of the recurring comments found in response to the video, To Our Americans Serving in Iraq ….
“uncle tom “
As I’ve written many times in the past and liberals seemingly go out of their way to prove, they seem to think so little of Black people that they truly believe as we all look alike, we must all think and vote alike. Should I have the freedom to think independently, I must be an Uncle Tom.
Over the years, I’ve learned to take that as a compliment. In most cases, if someone disagrees with someone’s point, the natural thing to do would be pose another point of view to counter. A black person during the Democratic Party’s glory days would be lynched for doing other than he or she was told. Lucky for me lynching is illegal today, so liberals do what they do best: shout down anything they don’t want to hear.
That includes the opinions of others.
“sorry, for non english speaking background, pls simplify. Bush is shit, Americans should not be in Iraq, let the people live their life , story of petrol ND BOMBS, ALL CLEAR, WE DO UNDERSTAND THAT BUT HOW THAT MONKEY CAN CHEAT HIS OWN NATION. it is strange.”
Funny about that “let people live their life” comment. Who is doing the majority of killing in Iraq, if not the whole Muslim world? Who is doing the raping of women? Who is leaving bombs in markets to kill women and children? Before you tell me that we should let people live their life, would you have the guts to go and tell that to a terrorist?
Probably not. It’s easy to take advantage of the freedoms this country has to offer because of the blood of others. It’s easy to call President Bush shit, burn our flag, and throw paint on veteran’s memorials. But if it weren’t up for the men and women of the our military, terrorists would probably kill us all and let you live as there’s nothing you would fight for, including your own freedom.
Talk about pathetic….
“That’s a load of bullshit. The guy is a moron.”
As someone who puts my thoughts out there to be publicly dissected, I would be happy to have this discussion. However, the majority of those on the left with a different perspective do little to make their opinions known.
It’s like those Democrats who run around now claiming last November’s election victory over the Republicans was a mandate. Mandate for what? If you remember, Nancy Pelosi went underground. Many Democrats decided to go off on Mark Foley while not telling the American people exactly what they would do once in power. The kook fringe left was quite vocal on what they wanted, but the politicians themselves wouldn’t play their hand.
Doesn’t it make you wonder why…?
“Having served in Iraq I can tell you that the nonsense this man is speaking is out of step with the majority of the members of the armed forces. Rhetoric is fine but contrary rhetoric is dangerous. Asking those who protest to go also should include those children who started this illfated war and the children of those who have profited from it.”
Sometimes a message comes in and it makes one kind of doubt if the person is who they say they are…?
Granted, I and a lot of my shipmates were griping all the time about what we had to do. We griped about lots of things, and I served during peace time. As I said during the video, I can’t imagine what it’s like over there. At the same time, most know when they enlist that they are going to war. There are some that wanted to get out when their time was up and they can’t. We’ve all heard about the “needs of the Navy” or whatever branch we’re talking about.
Those who chose this profession did so knowing that the mission of Microsoft is to make software, while the mission of the United States military is to engage in warfare when the Commander-in-Chief deems it necessary. While the mission may be difficult (and in the case of Iraq and Afghanistan that’s an understatement), unless I hear otherwise from those in theater, I’ll assume the soldiers on the ground believe in that mission. They see things there we’re not privy to as the media seems incapable of telling the American people the truth as to the reality on the ground.
And if that person is impersonating a service member overseas in a war zone, that speaks volumes of the character of those on the left.
“I wonder if thie clown believes his own propaganda?”
prop·a·gan·da [prop-uh-gan-duh]
–noun
- information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement, institution, nation, etc.
- the deliberate spreading of such information, rumors, etc.
- the particular doctrines or principles propagated by an organization or movement.
It’s sad there are those who believe anyone would deliberately spread rumors to help or harm a cause. Then again, there are Democrats….
“I have never seen a more full of shit video in my life. There are so many fallacies, distortions, and outright lies it would take a hundred pages to barely scratch the surface. Fine, keep fighting and supporting Bush, may you die with honor.”
Again, any specifics…? And the actual script for that video was under two thousand words. It really shouldn’t take a hundred pages….
I’ve also often noted how the left wishes conservatives and Republicans death more frequently than they do our nation’s enemies. At least they are consistent.
“This fool wants the troops on the ground to kill as many of the ‘enemy’ as possible to win. Would he please go to Iraq and point out the ‘enemy’ to our troops, since it seems so easy, to him, what the enemy looks like!!!”
I’m not sure I said I knew what the enemy looks like, as they don’t wear uniforms and routinely hide behind women and children in homes instead of fighting on a battlefield clear of civilians.
I’m too old to go to Iraq and I choose not to at this point in my life. However, those who have chosen to go and fight our nation’s enemy must kill as many of the bad guys as possible. What would you have them do? Lay down their arms and put dandelions in the rifle barrels of the terrorists?
That may work in a Hollywood movie, but if you have the time, read a few passages of the Koran and see what some have in store for you.
“oh yeah id feel better if i really knew how many “enemy” were killed,Fuck you these are people that were killed in a bullshit war you fucking pansy ass, you disgust me”
and
“BLAH BLAH BLAH Tell me after 9 minutes does this clown say “April Fool!”
Welcome to my world.
Again, thank you to the many people overseas to whom this video was directed to. Many of us support you, many pray for you, and many can’t wait to spit on you, especially when we win this thing.
I’m proud to be an Uncle Tom in a nation you’re defending any day.

Bob, thank you so much for your commentary! As a retired military member I feel nothing but contempt for the foolish actions of our current leadership. As you stated Saddam has been in violation of our/UN treaties since the ink dried on the parchment. Who cares if he had weapons or not, he broke the agreement and should be hammered for it, regardless. I was happy when we finally decided to go in and uproot this tyrant. We would not be in this mess if Clinton took care of business when he moved into the Whitehouse.
I personally hold him responsible for the feminization of our nation. We are no longer a Super Power but Super Wimps. We are so scared of how the enemy a feels about us, we lose sight of our mission. Who cares how the world perceives us… what are they going to do withhold trade or oil? We are the largest importer of goods in the world and the second largest exporter, we could cripple the world without lifting a military finger and they all know it and hate us for that same reason. Since when is the military in charge of feelings? I saw this in the 90’s with new Clinton military doctrine, I had to hold my subordinates and find out what I did that may have drove them to break the rules. Confrontation management without confrontation in the US military, please see oxymoron. I could picture my drill sergeant and me skipping hand in hand instead of marching to the chow-hall. No wonder we can’t fight a war… I did not say win, I said fight.
With all this hand wringing going on in both houses if we pull out now they would cry because we left Iraq. The vacuum left by our departure would make Darfur look like a Club Med. I refuse to mince words here; these people are barbaric in every sense of the word. They have been massacring each other for thousands of years over religion, territory and riches, what make us so sure we can change this culture. The only thing they respect or understand is decisiveness and action; anything else is a signature of weakness. Pick the biggest guy in the room, put a bullet in his head and everyone else will fall in line. We cannot prosecute this war like we are running a daycare… war is mean and messy for a reason. It burns the image of war in every inhabitants head preventing them from forgetting and repeating. Kind of like sticking your finger in an electrical socket as a kid… you only do that once.
I have just viewed the video and I thought the comments were very insightful. Excellent. Please run for office, I would vote for you.
bravo from a navy vet
Sir,
This video on youtube was an excellent source information that needs to be spread to many more people.
I received it as a link from a relative who spoke that if you were to run for office would have their vote. I have to agree. It far to often that we get all the bad news and none of the good news, and how many of our troops die. I hope that this video gets spread around enough to really irk the left. They soon forget that all of us as a nation were for this at one time. I have never served in the armed forces, but I am very proud of the men and women who are or have, without them, in a very short time we would be overrun by our enemies. Thank you again.
There you go again…filling my heart with pride.
Sir,
I just wanted you to know as a veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns, and as some one who has bet shot at and blown up on a regular basis, I greatly enjoyed your video on yourtube. Some times I just get so pissed from seeing from these idiots on t.v, I cant even describe it. But your video made my day. When I was serving in the military I cant seem to remember ever hearing any one voicing doubts about why we were in Iraq, or that the war was hopeless. And this was a combat engineer company that at one point had more men wounded in it that the rest of the battalions in my brigade combined! I want you to know that I think you did a great thing posting your video, and don’t pay any of those small minded idiots that were calling you a “uncle tom” any mind. Keep up the good work!
Sgt Jacob Mach
U.S Army (retired)
Don’t mind the idiots– although you seem to be following that advice already– and please keep up the good work.
It was a well spoken, nicely paced video.
Thanks for your service, and thanks for the nickname that my (former) ship borrowed– the USS Essex out of Sasebo has been stealing the USS Neverdock for the last few years at least. ;^)
The guy may indeed be military– my supervisor was flat-out deranged about Prez. Bush. Honestly, he couldn’t let ANYTHING nice about the poor guy go by!
I also notice that a lot of leftist sites link to videos like yours, and some of their… less charming members like to spam the heck out of them.
I didn’t see this until tonight. I loved it. Well done!
I keep getting into debates with people on the Iraq/Afghanistan war issues. I find it funny that people always talk about our dead as if they are the only ones who died. They keep saying Bush lied. They keep pointing out obscure facts of this or that. All of which have nothing to do with anything other than their own agendas. Bob you hit the nail on the head. I served, and fought for this country when the war was what everyone wanted. Now it isn’t so pretty The bad memories of 9-11 have faded. The anger is replaced with numbness. The justice is not stated as revenge. As a former Marine and police officer, I am proud of the fact that we have not had a major incident at home since we took the fight to them. We got proactive instead of reactive dealing with terrorism. Now people don’t want to pay the price of that paradigm shift? Why? Would you prefer that we go back to the old way and just wait for an attack? Do what you have always done. Get what you have always got… Neutrality didn’t work before Pearl Harbor, and pulling out and coming home will not either. We will just make a mess of the hard work we have done. Our trooper deserver more from us, and our leaders. They deserver the right to stay and finish the job they started.
I don’t have all the facts, but neither does the left. My biggest issue with this is, when we did it, everyone was behind it. Its like going out to dinner. You get dressed up. You pick a great restaurant. You make the reservations. You get a great seat. You order drinks. You enjoy the music. You eat a great meal. Then when the bill comes you can’t believe the cost, so you refuse to pay. We knew what Sadam was doing years before 9-11. We understood the Talaban and the issues there as well. We knew what needed to be done. We had a president with enough courage to make the right call. He stood against the ridicule. Our troops did the job of putting out the fire in Afghanistan and Iraq. The hard part is always the clean up of any mess. We are saving civilian lives in both of those countries, and countless others including the USA. Cleanup costs time, manpower, and money. After the cleanup, you rebuild. More time, more money. Then once the rebuilding is done, maintenance will cost as well. We knew this going in, and yet Politian’s are screaming about money, and slowness of getting things done. In fact, I personally think we are moving too quickly in most cases and that is the reason for much of the problems we are seeing today. Our government was designed to move slowly to keep things balanced. To get Iraq back into a balanced society with a working government will take time. I have digressed enough…
From one former service man to another, thank you for taking the time to make the video. Thanks for putting to words how I feel. Thank you for sending a good message to our troops standing guard on the wall.
We should all stand tall and talk positively to the men and women that server our country so bravely on the front lines. Well done. God bless. Be save, and ever vigilant. Semper-fi…
Frank
Bob, although I don’t know you personally we think so much alike it sounds like I hear myself. The left are so far left now, I think we need the “Terminator” to scare the s*@# out of them into intelligent thought. There are many good web sites in which you can email our armed forces to find out what is truly happening in Iraq. I know the “Left” don’t want to know the truth, so they would never go th those sites. Anyone wanting to know the truth should do some research on the Internet. You tell it exactly like it is & if the left keeps up the crap they are spewing now, it is time for all citizens to use their second amendment right to bear arms. Since they are trying to take that from us also, I think the sooner the better.
Thanks for your courage to uphold your free speech right, even though you are getting a lot flack from the “Liberal Dip Sh*@s”.
Mr. Parks,
You are indeed an inspiration. I cannot tell you how uplifting that video was for me.
Your willingness to stand and call the Liberals the cowards that they are is indeed courageous.
I know that you have already endured much hate mail and vitriol from those that hate this country, but who hide behind the freedoms that our Fighting Forces provide in order to hack away at the
foundations of our great country.
I know that trying to keep ourselves motivated to get the truth out to those that need it
can be emotionally, mentally, and physically draining. I pray that you have the strength to
carry on. We need your voice to help us help our wonderful Armed Forces to win this fight.
It is not their’s alone. It is the responsibility of us all.
Again, Thank you.
God bless you, sir, for saying what is true and what needs to be said.
My two older brothers enlisted in the military; one of them served eight years in the Marines and Army and is now out, and the other is still enlisted as of now. They’ve both done Iraq tours–the eldest, Ivan, was stationed at Abu Ghraib for a while–and they told us all about conditions and the situation there in their letters home. After hearing their stories, the liberals’ sheer hatred for the troops utterly baffles me. The New York Times and other such papers count every body like a collector drooling over his latest acquisition.
What a bunch of ghouls. Thank you for speaking out, Mr. Parks.

Another Hot Air arrivee, I’m not surprised by the backlash in the YouTube comments section. At all. It’s nice to hear a few choice words from someone with a backbone.
I too watched your video via a link at Hot Air. You are a true patriot and I am glad that our country has people like you who stand up and say what needs to be said.
Pingback: newrepublicans.us » Blog Archive » Hate Filled liberal donks and the True Racist Party
I watched your video via a link at Hot Air. Thank you for your support of our military men and women. The first time my son deployed, I was nervous. This time, we are terrified at the murder and treason the democrats plan to perpetrate unless the other side of the aisle grows the gonads to stop them.
Isn’t it intersting that liberals seem to hate conservatives more than they hate our enemies. They claim to love our country and to “support our troops” yet they want to see this country lose this war and do everything they can to demoralize the American people while encouraging the enemy. I believe Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Syria is Treasonous and should be dealt with accordingly. I cannot trust, believe or follow any political leader who is clearly more concerned with their own political power than they are in what is best for the citizens of the United States. Say what you will about President Bush – I disagree with many of his domestic policies, but I do believe that he makes his decisions on what he believes to be in the best of the country. Have the Liberals no shame? Have they no decency? Have They no brains? For a group that would love to be seen as the intellectual elite, it is amazing to me that clearly the logical conclusion of their professed thought processes ends in defeat for the country and their party. I can only hope the pendulum swings back in the other direction and that the conservative party returns to its roots.
Well, sir, I find your attitude most refreshing. I find the liberal bullshit most depressing. They suck so badly that I find myself totally repulsed at their claiming status as Americans. Should they choose to support the enemy as they do, fine. Go live there. They obviously choose to support the enemy, therefore they’ve identified themselves as same. You are a breath of fresh air.
