Who Is Germany To Talk?

According to Time Magazine’s Adam Zagorin,

“Just days after his resignation, former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld is about to face more repercussions for his involvement in the troubled wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. New legal documents, to be filed next week with Germany’s top prosecutor, will seek a criminal investigation and prosecution of Rumsfeld, along with Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, former CIA director George Tenet and other senior U.S. civilian and military officers, for their alleged roles in abuses committed at Iraq’s Abu Ghraib prison and at the U.S. detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.”

“The plaintiffs in the case include 11 Iraqis who were prisoners at Abu Ghraib, as well as Mohammad al-Qahtani, a Saudi held at Guantanamo, whom the U.S. has identified as the so-called “20th hijacker” and a would-be participant in the 9/11 hijackings. As TIME first reported in June 2005, Qahtani underwent a “special interrogation plan,” personally approved by Rumsfeld, which the U.S. says produced valuable intelligence. But to obtain it, according to the log of his interrogation and government reports, Qahtani was subjected to forced nudity, sexual humiliation, religious humiliation, prolonged stress positions, sleep deprivation and other controversial interrogation techniques.”

Many of us saw this coming. Just yesterday, Democracy Now! had on Michael Ratner, president of the Center for Constitutional Rights, almost bragging that this criminal investigation was coming down.

Is Bill O’Reilly going to call for another European boycott, this time of Germany? Can we really do without Audis and Bayer aspirin?

I kind of look forward to this investigation, as long as it’s in the open and we can take a look at the evidence. Are these plaintiffs mere dupes for liberals who needed yet another victim just to make a case? If these people who were interrogated are guilty of the crime they were captured for, just how many lives may have been saved with the information extracted from them.

Maybe German lives….

Some of the countries where these detainees come from would have no trouble torturing, and let’s not forget, beheading the innocent, let alone the guilty.

And just who are these Germans to talk to anyone about war criminals? Let us not forget, it was Germany who gave the world:

Herman Goring
Successor-designate to Hitler; President of the Reichstag; Commander of the Air Force; President of the Council of Ministers for Defense of the Reich; Head of Hermann Goring Combine; General of the SS.

Joachim Ribbentrop
Reich Minister for Foreign Affairs. Member of Secret Cabinet Council; General of the SS.

Deputy to Hitler, and successor designate after Goring. Member of Secret Cabinet Council. General of the SS.

Ernst Kaltenrunner
General of Police; Head of Reich Main Security Office (RSHA); Chief of Security Police and Security Service.

Alfred Rosenberg
Reich Minister for Occupied Eastern Territories; Commissioner for ideo-logical education; organizer of Einsatzstab Reichsleiter (Looting Organization).

Hans Frank

Julius Streicher

Alfred Jodl

Erich Raeder

Heinrich Himmler

Robert Ley

I find it unbelievable that Germany, that produced some of the most feared, and hated, war criminals ever, has the business to point a finger at anyone, especially since Nazi-wannabes still roam freely there today.

If we don’t stand up to these socialist bullies, they’ll be indicting the troops next. Thank God, they don’t have the guts to attack us. They’d wind up with all our liberals as refugees….
