Gay Marriage vs. Mass Stupidity

How does it feel to know that the very people you voted for think you’re as dumb as stones? If you didn’t think about that before, maybe now you should.

Hundreds of dumb Bay Staters went around and gathered tens of thousands of signatures to put the gay marriage issue up to us ignoramii to vote on.

On July 12th, our enlightened “lawmakers” on Beacon Hill were supposed to debate whether or not to place that constitutional amendment on the ballot to outlaw same-sex marriage in the only state where it’s now legal, and that, thanks to a well-placed judge. Well, as luck would have it, our legislature decided to delay dealing with the issue until November 9th, two days after the upcoming election.

But then again, we the people in Massachusetts are too dumb to figure out what they’re up to, right?

According to the Boston Herald, “State Rep. Thomas Sannicandro (D-Ashland), who supports same-sex marriage, said he voted for the delay so fellow lawmakers could vote without the pressure of having to face voters soon thereafter.”

Remember that when some politician reminds you over the next few months how he or she “fought” for you. They wouldn’t be saying this if they didn’t think they could play you for the fool again.

Now besides the fact that a woman I met from Orange was spat upon in the face by one of those tolerant, inclusive activists protesting in front of the State House, let me take a stab at one of the arguments for same-sex marriage I find the most offensive and insulting.

“If slavery were to have been put up for a vote, it would still be legal.”

Actually, there was a vote. It was called The Civil War, and hundreds of thousands of Americans cast votes with their own blood.

Slavery lost.

Aside from their sheer ignorance when it comes to history, the infusion of race into this argument by gay activists is predictable and all the more shameful. Gays are not, have never been, and are in no way comparable in the treatment they receive today as were slaves for centuries.

But back to the matter at hand….

Massachusetts legislators want to wait conveniently until the get back into office so they can find another excuse to blow off the will of the people yet again. If there was ever a clearer reason to kick all the bums out, or at least the 100 who think they pulled one over on us, there will never be a better one.

They can run, but they can’t hide.
