Bob Parks: Illegal Facts

Bob Parks: Illegal Facts

Every couple of years or so, we hear senior citizens screaming at Republicans, who are always falsely blamed, “Keep your hands off our Social Security.” I say “falsely” because of games that Democrats always play on those they consider a little dim.

A modest increase in payout is proposed, Democrats claim it’s not as much as they want, and when it passes they call it a cut. Seniors fall for it every time. However, your Social Security is going to be cut. This time, you really can’t blame all Republicans. This time, blame the United States Senate, period.

Last week, they voted to allow illegal aliens to collect Social Security benefits based on past illegal employment, even if their job was obtained through forged or stolen documents.

Arizona Senator John McCain said, “We all know that millions of undocumented immigrants pay Social Security and Medicare taxes for years and sometimes decades while they work to contribute to our economy.”

It’s time once and for all to debunk this myth that if not for illegal aliens, the entire United States economy would collapse. In fact, if not for illegal aliens, I contend our economy would be doing a lot better.

Seeing how this whole issue has now been acknowledged beyond the borders of our southern states, Wall Street Republicans, No-Border Democrats and Mexican nationalists have released a ton of false figures to support their fictitious claim that illegal aliens contribute more to America than they cost.

According to Mark Cromer, senior writing fellow for Californians for Population Stabilization, “They start by cutting in half the actual number of illegal immigrants in the nation, which serious studies by firms like Bear Stearns now place at more than 20 million men, women and children.

Advocates furiously downplay the cost of this nation-within-a-nation. They peddle instead sugary platitudes that hold illegal immigrants are simply hardworking people who “pay taxes” and fuel the American economy.

The facts tell a different story:

  • The estimated 1.1 million illegal immigrants currently in the nation’s public school system cost taxpayers $9.6 billion every year in an attempt to educate them, despite the illegal immigrant community’s epidemic-scale dropout rates
  • The 2.2 million children of illegal immigrants in America, often referred to as “anchor babies” to ensure the parents can stay, add an additional $20 billion to that tab
  • In California, the 2004-05 state budget spent more than $9,800 per pupil in the classroom. An estimated 425,000 illegal immigrants in the state’s classrooms during that period cost taxpayers more than $4 billion — a figure that does not include the “anchor baby” population in schools
  • More than 40,000 illegal immigrants jammed California’s prison system alone in 2004, costing taxpayers $1.5 billion in tax dollars not reimbursed by the federal government
  • And in one of the cruelest jokes played on the American taxpayer, illegal aliens are allowed to claim children living back in Mexico and qualify for the earned-income tax credit, which was created to help our American poor.”

Can anyone tell me just how a family of six illegal aliens, who soak up nearly $40,000 annually in taxpayer dollars just to educate their four children, is contributing more back into our economy? And now our politicians are going to give them Social Security benefits from a system we know is destined to crash without the help of illegals.Illegal aliens took to our streets and protested us. They’re now slowly getting what they want, because heaven forbid, it’s an election year and at this rate, they’ll be voting in November.

Anyone hear them say “Thank you”?
