They CAIR, Or Else…
Would someone please tell me what country I live in? I’m a bit confused.
I was always taught that in the United States of America, we had a Constitution and a Bill Of Rights. We supposedly have this thing call the First Amendment to the Constitution which reads:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.â€
Forgive me if I interpreted the words incorrectly, but where does it say anything about not hurting anyone’s feelings or pointing out facts even though they may be painful? With that, where does the Council on American-Islamic Relations get off going around suing people and getting people fired for stating what is to this day a fact that cannot be honestly refuted: Islamic fanatics want to kill everyone not Islamic?
“We love death. The U.S. loves life. That is the big difference between us.â€
- Osama bin Laden
Now I’m sure the fine folks over at CAIR would insist either Mr. bin Laden never said that or I’m taking it out of context. Bin Laden was probably talking about “Die Hard†movies, right?
Again I ask, why do people come to the United States for the freedoms we have and then attempt to morph us into the backwards places from which they fled? In some countries, you can’t say anything bad about “certain†religions, whilst it’s encouraged to say this about those damn Christians or those damn Jews, etc. It would appear talk radio host Michael Graham got into that same mess. This time with predictably different results.
“(WASHINGTON, D.C., 8/22/05) – A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today applauded a Washington, D.C., radio station’s decision to fire a talk show host who stated repeatedly that “Islam is a terrorist organization.”
- CAIR website
However, he doesn’t live in some Third World dust bowl. He got in trouble for saying things essentially true about Muslim fanatics and got canned from his radio station… HERE IN AMERICA!
“On July 25th, the Council on American-Islamic Relations demanded that I be “punished” for my on-air statements regarding Islam and its tragic connections to terrorism. Three days later, 630 WMAL and ABC Radio suspended me without pay for comments deemed “hate radio” by CAIR.
“CAIR immediately announced that my punishment was insufficient and demanded I be fired. ABC Radio and 630 WMAL have now complied. I have now been fired for making the specific comments CAIR deemed “offensive,” and for refusing to retract those statements in a management-mandated, on-air apology. ABC Radio further demanded that I agree to perform what they described as “additional outreach efforts” to those people or groups who felt offended.â€
I personally offer a heartfelt thanks to liberals who’ve given us this curse called “political correctness.†Now we can lose our fucking jobs because we’ve hurt someone’s feelings.
Graham, on the air, did say: “Because of the Islamic theology that–rightly or wrongly–is interpreted to promote violence, added to an organizational structure that allows violent radicals to operate openly in Islam’s name with impunity, Islam has, sadly, become a terrorist organization. It pains me to say it. But the good news is it doesn’t have to stay this way, if the vast majority of Muslims who don’t support terror will step forward and reclaim their religion.”
Graham does have a point.
Whatever happened to boycotts if what Mr. Graham said was so bad? Whatever happened to “Let the market decide?†Now, certain groups who spend a lot of time criticizing us (and our perceptions of them based on past deeds) are winning our self-inflicted PC war. We now find ourselves having to succumb to the “demands” of those who, only recently, say they would condemn those who commit and preach terror.
I’ve said “until recently†because CAIR now has a “campaign†to show a softer side of Islamic fanatics.
I don’t know how many of you have ever visited the CAIR website, complete with touchy feely topics like “Muslims Care: Promoting Volunteerism for a Better Americaâ€, “Not in the Name of Islamâ€, etc. But unlike an organization that supposedly seeks outreach as they claim, their site is also full of demands and seemingly brags about the successes they’ve had with silencing those who don’t trust Muslims.
Didn’t know that was against the law.
CAIR has embarked on what some of us might deem a kind of P.R. campaign to soften the rhetoric that emanates today from some Islamic fanatics. After all, those who committed the bombings just recently in London weren’t those peace-loving and moderate Muslims CAIR insists are out there. We just don’t hear much from them.
“CAIR National Communication Director Ibrahim Hooper thanked all of those who took the time to express their dismay over the offensive comments made on MSNBC’s “Imus in the Morning” show.â€
“Earlier this year, CAIR announced a “Hate Hurts America” campaign designed to counter hate speech on talk radio.â€
A campaign….
However, one must take what Mr. Hooper says with a grain of salt. I say this knowing that Mr. Hooper and his pals at CAIR might be offended by these words and may attempt to have me fired as well. Too bad I’m not hired by anyone; just an American exercising my right of FREE SPEECH. It may be hate speech to those who don’t like what I’m saying, but if that were the case maybe a couple hundred liberals, some of whom have even fantasized about the deaths of certain conservatives, would be silenced through politically correct intimidation.
Makes me wonder what planet Ibrahim Hooper is from….
“I’ve never heard violence preached; I’ve never heard anti-Semitism or anti-Americanism preached.â€
“In fact, if I had heard that I would have called them on the carpet and asked them why they’re saying such hate-filled, divisive things.â€
- The Washington Times, however in a follow-up conversation, Mr. Hooper said he did “not include rallies.â€
According to the Times, Hooper has attended rallies with fiery anti-American and Israel speeches. Witnesses place him, in some cases, a few feet from the speakers, yet he claims not to have heard anything. Yet he makes demands of all of us that we accept his words and motivations for what he says they are.
Over the last few nights, the National Geographic channel aired a very eye-opening two-part program called “Inside 9/11†that contained a very different view of Islamic fanatics. I wonder if Mr. Hooper is going to demand that National Geographic be punished for portraying Osama bin Laden as a bad man.

After all, those poor Muslims who slit the throats of flight attendants, on the airliners they steered into buildings, died too. The things some will do for sex with seventy-two virgins.
There are times I part with current leadership and would think that an isolationist approach would be preferable. There are, of course, Muslims that wish to live in harmony with those around them. There are also those who do not. That being the case, there is no one forcing them to endure life in America.
Our First Amendment is being as violently assaulted as were the Twin Towers on a bright September morning. And we all remember what ultimately happened to the towers….
